India's Hero Honda April sales up 4.9 pct yr/yr

MUMBAI, May 3 (Reuters) - India's top motorcycle maker, Hero Honda Motors Ltd. (HROH.BO), sold 262,544 two-wheelers in April, up 4.9 percent from 250,366 units sold a year earlier.

Japan's Honda Motor Co. (7267.T) owns 26 percent in Hero Honda.

The company said sales for January-April were 1.11 million units. It did not give a comparable figure for the same period a year earlier.
