Alstom wins high-speed train contract in Argentina
AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France, July 6 (Reuters) - French transport and power group Alstom (ALSO.PA) said on Friday it has won a contract to build a high-speed rail link in Argentina
"We have won (the contract for) the high-speed rail link in Argentina," said Philippe Mellier, head of Alstom Transport.
Mellier was speaking at Aix-en-Provence, France at a conference on globalisation.
The high-speed rail link, expected to take less than three years to build, will connect Argentina's capital Buenos Aires with the central cities of Cordoba and Rosario.
Alstom was the only company to bid for the contract. The Argentine government has said the rail link represents an investment of $1.3 billion.
