Australia vehicle sales up 4.4 pct yr/yr in Sept
SYDNEY, Oct 3 (Reuters) - New vehicle sales in Australia rose 4.4 percent in September over the same month last year, the Australian Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries said on Wednesday.
In original terms, sales fell 5.3 percent in September compared to August. Adjusted for seasonal factors, sales were up by 1.0 percent, VFACTS said.
The VFACTS report said 782,362 vehicles had been sold in the year so far, 8.3 percent ahead of the same period in 2006. The September result equated to a seasonally adjusted annualised rate of 1.045 million vehicles.
