TOKYO, July 19 (Reuters) - Honda Motor Co. (7267.T) said it would suspend operations at its Suzuka factory on Friday because of a production stoppage at earthquake-hit piston ring supplier Riken Corp. (6462.T).

The suspension at the plant, which builds the Civic and several other models, would lead to a loss of 2,000 units, a spokeswoman said.

Honda will assess whether it can resume production on Monday at Suzuka and other domestic factories when it has more information, it said in a statement on Thursday.
