Japan's Topix down 2 pct as exporters drag on yen
TOKYO, May 26 (Reuters) - Japan's broad-based Topix index fell 2 percent on Monday, led lower by exporters such as Canon Inc (7751.T) on a firmer yen and after U.S. stocks booked their worst week in three months on record oil prices, which stoked fears about inflation and weaker consumer spending.
As of 0136 GMT, the Topix index declined 27.66 points to 1,349.03. The benchmark Nikkei average .N225 shed 2.1 percent to 13,714.89. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
