Nikkei down as Sony, TDK fall, Fujifilm gains
(Updates to midsession)
TOKYO, Jan 31 (Reuters) - The Nikkei share average fell 0.66 percent on Wednesday, as Sony Corp. (6758.T) and TDK Corp. (6762.T) declined after both firms failed to meet investors' expectations when they raised their increased profit forecasts.
But shares of Fujifilm Holdings Corp. (4901.T) climbed nearly 5 percent after the film manufacturer posted a surprise 70 percent jump in quarterly profit and raised its annual forecast to above the market consensus. [ID:nT208449]
