TOKYO, June 6 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average rose 1.3 percent on Friday, with exporters such as Canon Inc (7751.T) buoyed by a weaker yen and new hope for the U.S. economy after surprisingly strong job market data and retail sales.

As of 0001 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei .N225 rose 189.24 points at 14,530.36. The broader TOPIX index gained 1.2 percent to 1,441.66. (Reporting by Taiga Uranaka)
