Nikkei edges higher, tracking gains on Wall Street

TOKYO, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average opened 0.4 percent higher on Wednesday, led by exporters such as Honda Motor Corp (7267.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and tracking gains on Wall Street.

As of 0012 GMT the benchmark Nikkei .N225 was up 75.71 points at 16,526.29. The broader TOPIX index was up 0.7 percent at 1,581.27.
