Japan Nikkei opens up 0.65 pct, high-techs strong

TOKYO, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei opened 0.65 percent higher on Monday, with high-tech stocks such as Softbank (9984.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) forging ahead after Microsoft helped power a Wall Street rally last week. At 0004 GMT the Nikkei .N225 was up 0.8 percent or 129.20 points at 16,634.83. The broader TOPIX index was up 1.4 percent at 1,595.29, a rise of 21.82 points.
