Nikkei opens down 0.7 pct after Wall Street drop

TOKYO, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average opened 0.7 percent lower on Thursday, led down by Kyocera Corp (6971.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) following a fall in Wall Street.

As of 0001 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei .N225 was down 114.57 points at 17,085.32 The broader TOPIX index was down 0.7 percent at 1,652.48.
