Nikkei down 0.1 pct as Tokyo Electron, techs fall

TOKYO, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average edged down 0.1 percent on Friday, led lower by high-tech stocks such as Tokyo Electron Ltd (8035.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) after a flat finish on Wall Street.

As of 0001 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei .N225 was down 21.88 points at 17,070.61. The broader TOPIX index shed 0.1 percent or 2.13 points at 1,653.47.
