FACTBOX: Security developments in Afghanistan
(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1720 GMT on Wednesday:
HELMAND - Afghan security and U.S.-led coalition forces killed seven militants Wednesday and uncovered drugs and materials for making improvised explosive devices in the Nahr Surkh district about 530 kms (330 miles) southwest of Kabul.
KANDAHAR - U.S.-led coalition forces killed 15 militants and detained six suspected militants in an early morning raid in Zhari district Wednesday, about 500 kms (310 miles) southwest of Kabul.
PAKTIA - U.S.-led coalition troops killed five militants and detained four suspected militants in Zormat district, on Tuesday, about 125 kms (78 miles) south of Kabul.
PAKTIKA - U.S.-led coalition troops killed five militants and detained four suspected militants in Sabori district on Tuesday, about 170 kms (105 miles) southwest of Kabul.
