ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey's military General Staff said it would make a statement on Friday regarding press reports about its withdrawing troops from northern Iraq.

Turkey sent thousands of troops into the mountainous region on February 21 to combat Kurdish PKK guerrillas using the area as a base to stage attacks on Turkey. The General Staff says its troops have killed 237 PKK rebels during the offensive.
