Tibet exile government says 99 killed in protests

DHARAMSALA, India (Reuters) - The Tibetan government-in-exile has raised its confirmed death toll from clashes between Chinese authorities and Tibetan protesters to 99, a spokesman said on Tuesday.

"Confirmed, we have cross-checked the various reports," Thubten Samphel, a spokesman for the government-in-exile, told Reuters, adding that 19 Tibetans were killed in fresh protests on Tuesday. (Reporting by Jonathan Allen; Editing by Alistair Scrutton and Sanjeev Miglani)
