ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey's military General Staff said on Sunday the number of Kurdish PKK rebels killed during its ground and air offensive in northern Iraq had risen to 112.

In a statement posted on its Website, the General Staff said eight its personnel and 33 Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels had been killed on Sunday. The military confirmed a helicopter, which the PKK said it had downed on Saturday, had crashed. The military said the reason was not immediately known.
