Iraqi offer unsatisfactory: senior Turkish source
ANKARA (Reuters) - A series of proposals offered by a high-level Iraqi delegation to Turkey to prevent a major military operation against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq is unsatisfactory, a senior Turkish diplomat said on Friday.
Iraqi Defense Minister General Abdel Qader Jassim and National Security Minister Shirwan al Waeli are holding talks with Turkish officials in Ankara on how to crack down on the separatist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which uses northern Iraq as a base from which to stage attacks on Turkey.
