Explosion kills man in Vegas outside Luxor hotel
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A man was killed by an explosive device on top of his car outside a Las Vegas hotel on Monday in what police suspected was a targeted murder.
The blast occurred shortly after 4 a.m. inside the parking structure of the pyramid-style Luxor hotel after the victim noticed an object on top of his car and attempted to move it, Las Vegas police spokesman Bill Cassell said. The victim later died in a hospital.
"We believe the victim was the intended target of this," Cassell said, adding that a second person with the victim was not injured. "This is being treated as a homicide in which the weapon used to cause death is a non-traditional weapon."
Both individuals worked at the hotel, Cassell said.
