CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Mississippi River has flowed over the top of a levee in St. Charles, Missouri, as flood waters compromise a total of 25 levees in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said on Friday.

The levee was protecting crop land.

The compromised levees stretch from Dubuque, Iowa, to St. Louis, and several more levees are at risk of being swamped by flood waters.
