KURIHARA, Japan (Reuters) - Water from a dam in quake-hit northern Japan has started to leak, forcing rescue workers to abandon efforts to pull out a man trapped in a landslide, a military official said on Sunday.

The official said there were about 30 homes near the dam.

Local authorities, though, had yet to urge people in nearby Kurihara city to evacuate.
