UK's Brown hopes to fix Iceland situation: letter

REYKJAVIK (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said he hopes to sort out a financial dispute with Iceland rapidly, according to a letter distributed by the Icelandic government on Friday.

"In view of our strong bilateral relations ... we very much hope that it will be possible to resolve this situation rapidly and on a constructive and cooperative basis," Brown said in the letter.
