WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Agency for International Development has set aside $3 million to help relief efforts after a devastating cyclone hit Myanmar killing nearly 22,500, the White House said on Tuesday.

"The U.S. Agency for International Development has allocated an additional $3 million funding to help meet the most urgent needs of the Burmese people," said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino, using Myanmar's former name.

That is on top of $250,000 that was previously released in U.S. emergency aid.
