Uruguay says central bank president Bergara to be new economy minister

MONTEVIDEO, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Uruguays central bank president Mario Bergara will become the country’s new economy minister, president Jose Mujica said to reporters on Monday.

Bergara will replace Fernando Lorenzo, who resigned on Saturday in the face of accusations he took part in the irregular sale of government airplanes during the closure of the country’s flagship carrier.
