BIRMINGHAM, Ala (Reuters) - One woman was killed and three others were injured on Wednesday in a shooting prompted by a domestic dispute at a community college in eastern Alabama, police said.
The shooting took place outside an academic building at Southern Union Community College in Opelika and the victims had just pulled up in a car, said Opelika police spokesman Captain Allan Elkins.
The injured included a four-year-old girl hit by flying glass and a 36-year-old college student. The dead woman was 63, Elkins said, adding that there is a male suspect in the case but no arrests have been made.
“The suspect is related to the four victims. He may be a husband or an ex-husband. We are tracking that down,” Elkins told Reuters.
A neighboring high school was locked down after the shooting and classes were canceled, he said.
