BEIJING China will slash coal consumption by more than 80 million tonnes by 2017 as part of efforts to reduce air pollution, according to an action plan released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Friday.
Coal consumption will be reduced by more than 160 million tonnes by 2020, according to the plan.
