HBO sniffs "Cocaine"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Feature heavyweights Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay have teamed for “Cocaine Cowboys,” a drama series project at HBO.

Inspired by Billy Corben’s 2006 documentary of the same name, the HBO project chronicles the early days of cocaine trafficking in Miami.

“Cold Case” creator Meredith Stiehm, whose CBS crime drama is produced by Bruckheimer’s company, is writing the drama; she will serve as an executive producer alongside Bruckheimer and Bay.

“Cowboys” marks Bruckheimer’s first pay cable series project. The producer recently landed his first basic cable pilot with TNT’s “The Line.”
