BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A truck bomb in the northern Iraqi town of Tal Afar killed 25 people and destroyed about 10 homes on Monday, police said.
Police said the bomb struck the town’s mainly Shi‘ite Saadeh district. About 30 people were believed to be wounded.
Rescue workers and locals were digging through rubble in an attempt to rescue survivors who may have been trapped.
Police imposed a curfew on Tal Afar, an ethnically and religiously mixed town about 50 km (30 miles) from the Syrian border, after the attack.
