Jay Roach to direct "Game Change" for HBO

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Jay Roach has signed to direct HBO Films “Game Change,” based on Mark Halperin and John Heilemann’s 2010 tome about the 2008 election, the network confirmed.

Additionally, actor-turned-screenwriter Danny Strong will adapt the book. Roach and Strong worked together on HBO’s “Recount,” about the disputed 2000 election.

“Recount” won multiple Emmys including made-for-TV movie and best director for Roach.

“Game Change,” a New York Times bestseller, goes behind the scenes of the long and captivating campaigns of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Roach directed two of the “Austin Powers” movies, as well as “Meet the Fockers” and “Dinner for Schmucks.”
