US: looking at Kerry proposal for Libya sanctions

CLEVELAND (Reuters) - The White House said on Tuesday it was looking at U.S. Senator John Kerry’s proposal to consider reimposing sanctions on Libya but that for now the United States was focused on ending the bloodshed there and working with the international community.

“We are looking at his proposal,” White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters in Cleveland, where President Barack Obama was due to attend business event.
