MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Redd will miss the remainder of the season after the veteran tore left knee ligaments during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the team confirmed on their website.
Redd suffered an identical injury to the same knee a little less than a year ago and was hoping to make a successful comeback this season.
Playing on his surgically repaired knee, Redd struggled while averaging just 11.9 points per game and shooting 35 percent from the field.
He has a career average of 20.3 points per game. Having played on the gold medal winning U.S. Olympic team in 2008, Redd will have surgery this month.
"It's hard to explain the emotions that I'm feeling," Redd told reporters. "I know the amount of hard work it will take for me to get back to playing and helping our team, but I will continue to put my trust in God to get me though this."
