TAOS, New Mexico A former employee fatally shot two people in a rampage at a solar power products maker Emcore Corp's headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Monday before killing himself, police said.
Four people were wounded in the workplace shooting spree, which apparently was related to domestic violence-related, police spokesman T.J. Wilham said.
It was not clear if the 37-year-old gunman's girlfriend -- an employee of Emcore initially identified by police as the shooter's wife -- was among the dead.
Police initially said the six people were killed but later revised the figure.
Officers were called to Emcore's officers at 9:30 a.m., arriving to find people dead and wounded. The gunman was among the dead and had shot himself, police said.
Emcore shares closed down about 6 percent at 78 cents on Nasdaq. An International Trade Commission ruling on a ban of some of its imports also was reported on Monday. The commission had found that Emcore violated technology patents of another company.
