PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick fractured his right hand in Sunday's 29-16 loss to the New York Giants, just a week after he was concussed in his team's defeat to the Atlanta Falcons.

Vick broke the bone when he took a hit from defensive tackle Chris Canty after he completed a key pass to Jeremy Maclin during the third-quarter, go-ahead drive.

Vick later complained that the hit was late and he was at a loss why officials took no action.

"I was trying to protect myself and still I didn't get a flag," Vick told reporters.

"I'm on the ground constantly, all the time. Every time I throw the ball, I'm on the ground.

"I don't know why I don't get the 15-yard flags everybody else does."

Vick briefly stayed in the game, directing the Eagles to a first down at the two-yard line. Three times the Eagles tried to run the ball into the end zone, once on a sneak by Vick, but the Giants kept them out and Philadelphia had to settle for a field goal.

The quarterback, who completed 16-of-23 passes with one interception in the game and ran four times for 31 yards, returned to the field for another series of downs after having his hand x-rayed in the locker room.

But he was later taken off by Eagles coach Reid and replaced by back-up Mike Kafka, who threw two interceptions as the Giants came back from 16-14 down to clinch victory.

Vick said he had not been bothered by any post-concussion symptoms and was unsure how long he would out of the game after breaking his hand.
