WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama will meet on Thursday evening with business leaders in technology and innovation during a trip to the San Francisco Bay area.
The meeting is part of an effort by the Obama administration to reach out to the business community after strains in their relationship.
A White House official said Obama and the business leaders would discuss the president's goal of promoting exports and investing in research and development, education and clean energy.
The San Francisco trip is part of a two-day West Coast swing. On Friday, Obama will stop in Hillsboro, Oregon to visit Intel.
