WASHINGTON A Minnesota company has recalled certain breakfast products due to a failure to identify monosodium glutamate (MSG) as an ingredient on the product labels, the Department of Agriculture said on Wednesday.
The USDA said in a statement that 101,629 pounds of "Breakfast Stackers Sausage, Egg & Cheese" pastries and biscuits were recalled by Lettieri's Foods, Inc. after a routine label inspection.
No adverse effects due to consumption have been reported, and the recall has been classified as a Class 3 recall, meaning there is no adverse health consequence to using the product.
The breakfast products were distributed to California, Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Washington.
