MOSCOW (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who arrived in Moscow for talks on Monday, said she did not like Russia’s rhetoric towards the United States but there was no basis for talk of a new Cold War.
“I know people talk about, throw around terms like new Cold War. As somebody who came out of that period as a specialist in it I think the parallels ... frankly, they have no basis whatsoever,” Rice told reporters as she flew to Moscow.
“I don’t like the rhetoric either but ... I think that it’s extremely important, and I have said this to my counterparts, (to) not use rhetoric that suggests that the relationship is one of hostility,” she said.
