NEW YORK (Reuters) - A measure of future economic growth edged up last week, while the annualized growth rate also improved, a research group said on Friday.

The Economic Cycle Research Institute, a New York-based independent forecasting group, said its Weekly Leading Index rose to 131.0 in the week ended May 3 from 130.6 the previous week.

The index's annualized growth rate climbed to 7.3 percent from 7.1 percent a week earlier.
