Venezuela opposition calls for anti-Maduro strike on Thursday

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's opposition on Monday announced an escalation of protest tactics against President Nicolas Maduro's leftist government, including a 24-hour national strike later this week and the naming of new Supreme Court judges.

"It is time for zero hour," opposition leader Freddy Guevara said on behalf of the Democratic Unity coalition, announcing the strike for Thursday.
