FOREX-Euro falls as Trichet says high inflation temporary

NEW YORK, May 8 (Reuters) - The euro extended losses against the dollar on Thursday after European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said current high inflation in the euro zone remains temporary. [For more details ID:nFAT004155].

The euro <EUR=> fell against the dollar, trading at $1.5327 from about $1.5340 shortly prior to Trichet speaking. (Reporting by Nick Olivari; Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
