FOREX-Euro briefly turns negative on credit market fears

NEW YORK, Oct 9 (Reuters) - The euro briefly fell against the U.S. dollar on Thursday as stocks on Wall Street extended losses amid persistent fears over the global credit crisis.

The euro last traded at $1.3630 EUR=, flat on the session, after briefly falling as low as $1.3610.

U.S. stocks .DJI fell further in choppy trade as fears the widening crisis will tip the global economy into recession derailed an attempted rebound, led by financial shares. (Reporting by Wanfeng Zhou; Editing by James Dalgleish)
