FOREX-Dollar gains vs euro as Fed leaves rates unchanged
NEW YORK, Sept 16 (Reuters) - The dollar gained against the euro but fell against the yen on Tuesday after the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady at 2.0 percent, opting for the time being to soothe rattled financial markets with central bank lending facilities rather than rate cuts.
The euro EUR= slipped against the dollar to $1.4090, from 1.4145 before the announcement.
Against the yen JPY=, the dollar was last at 104.67, from 105.05 prior to the Fed's decision. (Reporting by Nick Olivari; Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
