Iceland taps Denmark, Norway for 400 mln euros
STOCKHOLM, Oct 14 (Reuters) - Iceland's central bank said on Tuesday it had drawn 400 million euros ($546.4 million) from swap facilities it had set up with Nordic countries, tapping the central banks of Denmark and Norway for 200 million each.
"The swap facility arrangements that were drawn upon are with the central banks of Denmark and Norway, each amounting to 200 million euros," the Icelandic central bank said in a statement.
Swap facilities with the central banks of Denmark, Norway and Sweden were announced on May 16 and provide for euro/Icelandic crown swaps of as much as 500 million euros with each of the central banks for a total of 1.5 billion euros.
A Swedish Riksbank official declined to comment.
