UPSOT AUSTRALIAN TV Australian TV channels report on the prank call that has caused a media storm. Wednesday's hoax call was made to the London hospital treating the pregnant Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, by two presenters on Australian radio 2Day FM. The presenters impersonated Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, tricking a nurse into revealing confidential details about the Duchess' condition. The pair have since apologised for their actions. The chief executive of the hospital where the Duchess is being treated said he regretted the breach of patient confidentiality, but criticised the prank. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KING EDWARD VII'S CHIEF EXECUTIVE, JOHN LOFTHOUSE: "I think this whole thing is pretty deplorable. All our nurses are caring professional people trained to look after patients, not to cope with journalistic trickery of this sort." Hospital officials say that the Australian radio station may have broken the law, and are considering what action, if any, to take.
