U.S. stocks began the week weighed down by lingering concerns over Europe's debt crisis. Investors showed little confidence that the EU's decision to set stricter budget rules for the euro zone will keep the crisis from spreading. Concerns of a default are reflected in the rising borrowing costs for Italy and Spain -- and the drop in the euro versus the dollar. Intel also pulled stocks lower. The top chipmaker cut its fourth quarter revenue forecast because of hard disk drive supply shortages. The company says while that shortfall will be significant, it expects supply to catch up to demand in the first half of 2012. Bobbi Rebell, Reuters.
