Wendy's to open restaurants in Malaysia

Oct 12 (Reuters) - Wendy's International Inc WEN.N said it signed a pact with Berjaya Corp Berhad (BGRO.KL) to build restaurants in Malaysia, to expand its brand in Asia.

Malaysian conglomerate Berjaya, through its unit Nadi Klasik Sdn Bhd, plans to open the first of these restaurants in late 2007 or early 2008, and expects to open more than 70 Wendy's restaurants, the company said in a joint statement. (Reporting by Supantha Mukherjee in Bangalore)
