* RAMADI - Police found five decomposed bodies and arrested a militant suspected of being involved in their deaths just east of Ramadi, 110 km (68 miles) west of Baghdad, police said.
BAGHDAD - Four bodies were found in different districts across Baghdad on Friday, police said.
BAGHDAD - A suicide car bomber at a checkpoint manned by U.S.-backed neighbourhood patrol policemen killed one and wounded four others including two civilians on Friday in Ghazaliya district, in western Baghdad, police said.
MAHAWEEL - A child was wounded when he picked up a roadside bomb on Friday in Mahaweel, 75 km (45 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
NEAR HILLA - A body was found with gunshot wounds just east of Hilla, 100 km (62 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
JURF AL-SAKHAR - U.S. helicopters opened fire with rockets after coming under small-arms fire on early Friday in Jurf al-Sakhar, 85 km (53 miles) south of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.
SAMARRA - Gunmen killed a member of a U.S.-backed neighbourhood patrol in central Samarra, 100 km (62 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
