FACTBOX: Security developments in Iraq

(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1315 GMT (9:15 a.m. EDT) on Sunday.

* BAGHDAD - Iraqi President Jalal Talabani's wife, Ms Hero Ibrahim, escaped death when a bomb exploded near her convoy in Baghdad, the president's office said. She was not hurt but four bodyguards were wounded. Police said the bomb targeted an army patrol and had wounded two police and two civilians.

* MOSUL - A man was killed and another wounded when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

* MOSUL - The body of a decapitated man wearing a military uniform was found in Mosul, spokesman for Iraqi military operations in Mosul, Khalid Abdul-Satar, said.

* BALAD - Two women were killed by blasts from bombs planted near a policeman's house in a village near Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Two roadside bombs exploded in quick succession in al-Maamoun neighborhood in western Baghdad, killing a traffic policeman and a civilian and wounding eight people, including four traffic police, police said.

BAGHDAD - The bodies of four people were found in Baghdad on Saturday, police said.

MOSUL - The Iraqi army shot dead a suicide car bomber, thwarting an attempted attack on their base in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, on Saturday, police said. A soldier was wounded in the incident.  Continued...
