Egypt police use tear gas at Palestinians on border
ISMAILIA, Egypt (Reuters) - Egyptian police and border guards used tear gas and fired shots in the air to disperse dozens of Palestinians demanding to cross the border into Egypt on Monday, witnesses and security officials said.
"They are using tear gas. I also heard gunfire. I ran inside my house and sealed the doors and windows," one resident in the Egyptian side of the Rafah border town told Reuters by telephone. One security official confirmed the incident and said ambulances were sent to the scene.
