Medvedev says civil and economic freedom a priority

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Dmitry Medvedev said in his first speech as Russian president on Wednesday his priorities would be to safeguard civil and economic freedoms.

"I believe my most important aims will be to protect civil and economic freedoms," he said after he was sworn in as president in a Kremlin ceremony.
