FACTBOX: Military deaths in Afghanistan

(Reuters) - A British soldier was killed near Musa Qala in Helmand province on Monday, Britain's Ministry of Defence reported.

A total of 96 British soldiers have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001.

Here are figures for foreign military deaths as a result of violence or accidents in Afghanistan since the Taliban government was toppled:

NATO/U.S.-LED COALITION FORCES:

United States 503

Britain 96

Canada 83

Germany 26*

Spain 23

Netherlands 16

Other nations 67

TOTAL: 814
