GAZA (Reuters) - An Israeli missile fired into the Gaza Strip on Thursday killed one Hamas militant and critically wounded another, medical workers and Hamas officials said.

Hospital officials initially reported that both men had been killed, but later said that one of the militants was critically wounded.

An Israeli army spokesman said he had not heard of any attack in Gaza.

Hamas officials said the gunmen had been hiding in a shed in a field east of Gaza City scouting Israeli troop positions at the time of the attack.
