HARARE (Reuters) - Pan-African observers said on Monday Zimbabwe's elections were free and fair but expressed concern over the long delay in announcing results.

"Overall, the basic conditions of credible, free and fair elections...were reflected in the Zimbabwe harmonized elections, thus far," said Marwick Khumalo, head of an observer group from the Pan-African parliament.

But he said the post-election phase, including the announcement of results "remains a concern and needs to be monitored."
